Backstory

Well, to start this all off I don't remember a time when I thought about magic- actually maybe once when I was about four but it's been a while. I didn't expect any mail to come in. I usually never get mail. I was kinda confused at first. I looked at my name and the address and simply opened it expecting it to be from one of my friends from the last area I had moved from. I pulled the paper out and started reading...

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

UNIFORM
First-year students will require:
1.Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2.One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3.One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
4.One winter cloak (black, with silver fastenings)
Please note that all pupils' clothes should carry name tags.

1 cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
1 set glass or crystal phials
1 telescope
1 set brass scales
Students may also bring an owl OR a cat OR a toad.

My eyes widened with wonder, confusion, and excitement. It was like a melting pot of emotion and thoughts. I decided to follow the instructions given and I found myself at Hogwarts. I've been going through the schooling happily ever since.
