Backstory

I went to a muggle school in New Orleans, Louisiana until I received my acceptance letter to Hogwarts. I applied to Hogwarts because that is where my parents attended, and wish for my brother and me to go as well. However, because my parents do not wish for my brother and me to be so far away without a support system, we are taking classes online.
While we are doing our studies online, my brother and I are also attending a private magical school which allows magical students to gather to attend the online classes. This way we may interact with other students who are going through the same classes as us.
It makes it easier to cope with our education from such a distance. My parents have stated that if we do well in our first three years, we may revisit the discussion on attending Hogwarts itself. By then my brother will be old enough to take care of both of us, if need be.
Thusly, my parents fears that lay mostly with the interference of death eaters and those who still believe in the dark arts. While there haven't been as many reports of violence and fear, my parents can remember those times vividly.
I am enjoying my time in Ravenclaw. My older brother pretends he is disappointed in my placement in this house, but really he is proud. He once told me that the Sorting Hat offered him Ravenclaw or Slytherian. He made his choice because of what his heart told him.
I'm beginning my second year and I am so excited about getting into the history classes!
