Backstory

I lived a normal life in Brisbane, Australia until I was eleven. That all changed on the 31st of July when the letter arrived, inviting me to Hogwarts on exchange, as the Australian wizarding school had been severely damaged in a huge battle in the previous year. The letter told me to get my things ready, then take a tight grip on the feather enclosed. The feather was in a jar, so I got all my things and pulled out the feather, holding it tightly. The second my hand touched it, I was swirling through space and suddenly was at the Leaky Cauldron, where Tom, the inkeeper, had been told to explain everything to me. I realised that I'm a wizard and I had been brought there by a Portkey! I stayed at the Leaky Cauldron for that month and bought the things I needed from Diagon Alley with the money the school provided while I was on exchange. Come September 1st, I boarded the Hogwarts Express, and here I am, a 1st year Ravenclaw.
