Ephra Korret

Backstory

Ephra attended Hogwarts as an American transfer from a half-blood family and was initially sorted into Ravenclaw for her quick wit and great interest in magical study. As she progressed through her second year of school, however, Ephra's grades worsened, and she began to isolate herself from her housemates for lack of common interests and a difficulty relating to peers who were at constant study. Ephra appealed to the sitting headmaster to change houses and was permitted to transfer to Gryffindor, where she felt instantly more at ease surrounded by others whose quick minds worked toward knowing a thing rather than pursuing the why of the thing.

She excelled at more practical studies of magic, such as Charms and Potionmaking, while still struggling with Transfiguration and the like. Upon graduation, Ephra returned to the US for several years to work as a Cursebreaker with the MACUSA specializing in Charm work. She was invited back to Hogwarts as an Adjunct Professor several years ago, and mainly teaches Second and Third Year students. Her door is always open to those who need a cup of coffee and an ear to listen.
