Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts! All sorts of things can happen when you attend a school as large as Hogwarts. As a result, it can be confusing to know where to go and who to talk to. Here is a summary of the senior staff roles and what they do.

Headmistress

The Headmistress is in charge of the content staff at Hogwarts is Here. This includes all professors as well as auxiliary staff such as librarians. Additionally, the Headmistress serves as a liaison between the students and the groundskeeper. Students may also be escalated to the Headmistress by the Heads of House if a serious offense is committed.

Deputy Head

The Deputy Headmaster or Headmistress is in charge of student relations. They are a friendly figurehead to go to if you need support from a staff member. They are responsible for supporting the site’s student volunteers (Professor Assistants, Library Assistants, Head Students) and checking in. The Deputy Head is also a resource for when you do not know who to go to for a particular situation.

Head of House

There are four Heads of House for each Hogwarts House: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. Every Head of House is responsible for managing student discipline for their respective house. If you need to report another user breaching the site’s Code of Conduct, contact your Head of House.

What to contact your Head of House for:

• Bullying and harassment

• Spamming and advertisements

• Inappropriate or offensive content

• Other Code of Conduct offenses

Your Heads of House are: Professor Vaylen Draekon, Professor Serafina Rosenquist, Professor Robert Plumb, and Professor Lavinia Laurel

Other inquiries:

As normal, inquiries regarding a specific course should be directed to that specific professor or their PA team and inquiries regarding the library should be directed to the librarian. If you need to contact a staff member about a situation that isn’t listed above, please contact the Deputy Head to direct you where you need to go.

**Please note that moving forward these roles (with the exception of Headmistress) are appointed on an annual basis for every school year, starting in September. The current roster in this article is for this school year (September 2025 through August 2026).
