Hogwarts Is Here Library Policies
Welcome to the Hogwarts Is Here Library! Our curated collection of books is open to submissions from all students. To submit a book for approval, your book must meet the following rules:
- All submissions must be approved by Library Staff. All below guidelines are at the discretion of the librarian and library assistants.
- Books must not contain profanity, pornography, suicide, drug use, other adult themes, or otherwise breach the site’s Code of Conduct.
- Books looking for library approval must have at least one complete chapter.
- Cover artwork must be original, created by the author, or from a free image use site.
- Books must be original content.
- Books must be submitted in English.
- Books must fit into the below categories. Books whose aim is to communicate a message to other people/could be replaced with communication (e.g. private messages, group posts, etc.) will not be approved.
Book Categories
- Supplemental Text & Textbooks: Text approved by professors for use in their course, all course textbooks written by a professor for their course
- Fanfiction - Harry Potter: All fiction that takes place in the HP universe and/or uses HP characters, including Harry Potter crossover
- Fanfiction - Non Harry Potter: All fiction that takes place in a universe the author has not created or that involves characters the author has not created
- Fiction: All original stories (No fan fiction)
- Personal Reference: Student journals, diaries, etc. created only for the use of the student themself.
- Guidebooks: Guides to using HiH (ex. Most things by Sid Harris)
- Academic Writings: Things that are semi-educational but not approved for supplemental text section, magi-scientific articles written in upper years, canon textbooks
Additionally, Library Staff may pick books that are particularly notable to be featured on the 'Spotlight' page. Spotlight books may be updated often, so check to see what's new!
