Mind over Magic: Mental Health at Hogwarts

By Nyx Aetheris

[A Guide to Mental Well-Being at Hogwarts] Whether you’re a first-year still adjusting to floating candles and moving staircases, or a seventh-year knee-deep in N.E.W.T. stress, one thing is clear: even witches and wizards need to take care of their minds. Self-care: not just for Muggles

Chapter 1

Some practical and magical ways to care for your mental health:

  • Journaling in a spellbound diary that locks with a charm (just don’t use Tom Riddle’s old one).
  • Aromatherapy potions: Lavender, chamomile, and peppermint can soothe even the most frazzled fifth-year.
  • Magical Creature Therapy: Spending time with Puffskeins, Nifflers (if supervised), or Hippogriffs (with proper respect) can be incredibly calming.
  • D.A. Meetings: Not just for Defense Against the Dark Arts—talking to friends about struggles is brave, not burdensome.

Stay safe!
