My first day at Hogwarts

Chapter 1

Diary,

I'm sitting in the Hogwarts library right now, and it kind of feels like I'm dreaming. I know it's real, but everything is just so gorgeous and academic here so I keep pinching myself every second. I've been sorted into Ravenclaw! I'm so happy I could twirl... and everybody in my house has been so kind and warm. I haven't made any actual friends yet though, but that's okay because I want to focus on my studies at the beginning of my first semester. I do not want to fail. Can you imagine how awful that'd be? Flunking my first semester at Hogwarts. Anyway, I'm sure I'll make friends soon enough because besides the other first years (they're shy like me, so we haven't spoken) the Ravenclaws have let everyone in with open arms. The sorting hat was kinda in a hatstall at first with me though - it wanted to put me in hufflepuff but ultimately decided the Ravenclaw lifestyle was better for me, and I agree. I just love manifesting the academic weapon persona. My pinterest board is filled with it! Wait, do they take away your phones once classes start? I hope not, though I suppose I could just use my owl. Her name is Fiona of course, I've always wanted a pet to give the name Fiona to and I decided my owl is perfect for it. She's a beautiful brown owl, smart and fast and adorable. She actually loves apples, so obviously I decided to make her middle name Apple - so now in full she is Fiona Apple Bingham. I love it, it worked out perfectly that she loves apples because now she's named after my favorite artist, Fiona Apple! (She's from the muggle world.) Her music is for sure the thing that's going to get me through my O.W.L exam studies this year. So far I've enrolled in these classes: Alchemy, Astronomy, Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, History of Magic, & Potions. But who knows if I'll take more. . . actually probably not because that's a lot for my first year, especially since Alchemy is technically a year two class. I think that's all my updates for now, other than the food is amazing - so I'll be going off to my dormitory now. I'm forcing myself to stick to a good sleep schedule since I want to do well in my studies this year. Oh, and one more thing! I'm so excited for tomorrow, because I'll be going to Diagon Alley to pick up a few more things. My parents are muggles, so they didn't quite know what to look for when we were there and forgot to buy extra robes and other things. . . but now that I've read my sylabus thouroughly I'm going to go back since I have a couple extra galleons.
