Chapter 6

One Rune Pull & The Three Norns (Three Runes Pull)

To use the One Rune Pull spread, ask a question & focus. Interpret the rune that best relates to your question. If all else fails, draw another. Another method is by asking yes or no questions. If the rune is upright, the answer is yes & if the rune is merkstave, the answer is no. If the rune comes up as inconclusive, draw another. To use the Three Norns spread, ask a question & focus. Grab three runes & place them on your spread from left to right. Rune one gives insight to past emotions & truth. Rune two gives insight to the result. Rune three gives knowledge to what is influencing the result & how it may end.

Five Rune Spread (Celtic Cross Spread) & The Midgard Serpent (Jormungandr)

To use the Five Rune spread, ask a question & place it in a clockwise circle starting near the closest to you, & place the last rune in the middle. Rune one represents tpresent influences causing the issue. Rune two represents the challenges & barriers. Rune three represents the valued aid. Rune four represents your emotional concerns. Rune five represents the end result. To use the Midgard Serpent spread, ask a question & focus on drawing seven runes. Rune one shows past emotions. Rune two shows the struggles of the past. Rune three shows your current emotions. Rune four shows the challenges. Rune five shows future emotions. Rune six shows the steps you will take to reach the end result. Rune seven shows the end result.

The World Stead Spread

To use this spread, use a casting cloth which will be separated into nine sections to represent each world. You don’t have to ask a question. Asgard represents yourself & your Inner Eye. Hel represents secret desires & hidden gifts. Jotunheim represents the objects that are forcing the changes. Ljosalfheim represents issues within family dynamics. Muspelheim represents the influences of outside issues. Niflheim represents the objects that stand in your way. Svartalfheim represents wealth & creativity. Vanaheim represents the balance of partnerships & love.

Fun Facts
The tree of life holds nine worlds; Midgard, Niflheim, Vanaheim, Asgard, Hel (heim), Ljasalfheim (Alfheim), Muspelheim, Jotunheim, & Svartalfheim.
The World Stead Spread is also known as the tree of life.
The Three Norns is also known as the Past, Present, Future spread.
In the One Rune Pull spread, if the rune is upright, the answer is yes & if the rune is merkstave, the answer is no. If the rune comes up as inconclusive, draw another.
