Definition: Altering the physical state of an object by rearranging molecules.
Process: Visible physical change as object morphs.
Subbranches: This year focuses on general transformations.
Casting Basics
Spell Classes:
Static: Immediate, instantaneous effects.
Dynamic: Effects continue after casting.
Transfiguration spells: "One and done".
Willpower:
Mental push to make the spell happen.
Stronger in larger, more complex objects.
Creatures have a strong will due to consciousness.
Starting targets have minimal resistance.
Concentration:
Mental focus.
Picture the target morphing.
Must be maintained throughout the transformation.
More complex transformations require more concentration.
Involves analyzing both objects with all senses.
Wand Movements: Small, Simple, and Precise.
Incantations: Essential for successful casting. Precision is key.
Variations
Object types: Transformations can often be performed on different types of the same object.
Similar Objects: Spells can work on objects similar to the intended target.
Embellishments: Adding details to the resulting object is possible with concentration.
