Easter
Chapter 7
Easter, a significant global celebration, falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon right after the spring equinox, which occurs on the 21st of March. You might have already heard of this holiday—and you might be thinking about chocolate and Easter bunnies, but trust me, that’s not all there is to know, so read on.
See, Easter is celebrated in order to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. According to Christian beliefs, Christ was crucified on Good Friday and passed, but he came back from the dead on the third day—Easter Sunday. Easter celebrates the triumph of life over death.
There are many ways you could celebrate Easter. You could go to church, host a chocolate egg hunt, host family gatherings, join a parade, or have a picnic!
Fun Facts about this fantastic celebration!
1. Hundreds of millions of Easter eggs are made for this day. ALL THAT CHOCOLATE IS MAKING ME HUNGRY!
2. There is a Guinness World Record for the largest Easter egg ever made. It was created in Italy, 2011, with a weight of 7.2 tonnes. Interesting, right?
3. There’s a tradition of egg rolling at the White House. This dates back to 1878—over a century ago!
Thank you so much for reading my article on this holiday, everyone. Make sure to celebrate with laughter and smiles. HAPPY EASTER!
