The Library

Chapter 3

Welcome to April’s edition of The Library, a chapter beloved, I’m sure, by many readers of Hogwarts Monthly News. Today, I’d like you all to join me for a quick study session in the Hogwarts Library because I’ve gathered three delightfully educational books! Pull up a chair, grab a mug of butterbeer, and gather around as I flip open the first book on our list.

We’ll begin with The Complete Book of Incantations, written by William Richards. I must say, I was quite stunned to come across a book packed so full of information! It entails a rich collection of all known spells, complete with descriptions, pronunciations, and spellcasting components for each. It ranges across all areas of spells, from Charms to Transfiguration, as well as jinxes, hexes, and curses! I highly recommend this to any student who wants a reliable source to utilise whilst studying and learning spells.

Next, let’s move on to Organising Your Studies by Anthea Hawthorne. With this book, we get a full outline of how Anthea herself organises her magical studies, as well as tips on how to choose courses and study for them. I read this book a while back and found it to be incredibly convenient and helpful! For anyone who has struggled to maintain good study habits, this book is extremely well written and beneficial and can assist you in improving them.

For our last pick this month, I’ve chosen the fascinating Dragonology: Amongst The Beasts book, created by author Catalina Walnut. This comprehensive guide to Dragonology covers everything, from history to basic anatomy and even field research! It’s so captivating to read about Professor Snizzleby, a teacher and dragonologist. To those with an interest in magizoology (and more specifically, dragons), you’ll find this book to be a great fit for you!

That concludes our quick study session! Hopefully, you’ll consider these books the next time you need Charms assistance, organisational tips, or want to take a look into an extraordinary magical creature. I’ll see you here again next month, but for now, goodbye!
