Chapter 23
“The truth. It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution.” - Albus Dumbledore
Naturally, I’ve started this chapter with a Dumbledore quote—and what Albus has said right here is purely correct. The truth is capable of empowering and uplifting. The truth is the base of trust in relationships. The truth is a harsh reality, able to hurt. Sometimes, if the truth arrives in the wrong hands, things might go terribly wrong. Sometimes, if the truth isn’t spoken aloud, bonds are broken. Can you now understand how complex the truth really is?
“No! You can have me, keep me!” - Ronald Weasley
Imagine being locked in an underground cellar while the love of your life is being tortured a floor above by a sadistic maniac. All you can hear are her screams, tearing through your heart and head, and you can’t do anything about it. Well, this is exactly what Ron went through in The Deathly Hallows, and it still haunts me to this day. How he called “YOU CAN HAVE ME! KEEP ME!” broke my heart. The movies really should’ve incorporated Romione’s love better.
“I’ll join you when hell freezes over. DUMBLEDORE’S ARMY!” - Neville Longbottom
Neville has guts. It’s not every day a super powerful evil lord pops out of nowhere and declares one of your closest friends dead before threatening you to join their cause or else. And it’s not every day that one doesn’t succumb to fear. Well, Neville stood strong and true, a loyal and brave Gryffindor heart burning in his chest as he looked Voldemort in the eye and uttered this line out loud for everyone around to hear.
"I would trust Hagrid with my life.” - Albus Dumbledore
Imagine being framed for attacking students, then expelled, and then your wand is snapped, only for a professor to hire you as a gamekeeper so you’ll have a home. Well, this is exactly what Dumbledore did for Hagrid—and I truly appreciate him for this. Hagrid clearly kept this close to his heart, remaining loyal to Albus until his demise. He even believed that Dumbledore was “the best wizard in the world.” It’s truly beautiful to see what strong bonds you can make out of acts of kindness, right?
"Every human life is worth the same and worth saving." - Kingsley Shacklebolt
Okay, THIS QUOTE SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, but let me give you a little bit of insight anyhow. Our world is sort of sadly horrible. We are racist. We are sexist. We are homophobic. We are body shamers. We treat people differently… just because they LOOK different from us. Just because they are lower or higher. But at the end of the day, we are all humans, and we all have rights, and we should all be treated equally. This quote perfectly highlights that.
AND NOW… FOR OUR BONUS QUOTE!
"It always seems impossible until it's done." - Nelson Mandela
Now, I’m not sure whether this quote is from a book or not, but I found it online and I highly agree. We tend to tell ourselves, “Oh… That’s impossible. There’s no way I can do it!” But the thing is… How are WE supposed to know? We can’t tell how the future is going to turn out. The least we can do is try, because if you never do, you never know. All possible things were once impossible, like me successfully writing this article for the first time. Don’t you agree?
That’s all of the quotes for this month. Thank you for reading, bye!
