Chapter 4

     "She's coming through. How is her vitals doing?" "Calmed down since we hooked her up." Dahlia wiped her eyes and glanced around the room. A lady came in all prissy. Her badge read Denise which Dahlia silently laughed. "Dahlia darling. It appears a spot has opened in the hall. Don't try anything and you won't be harmed." A lab tech unhooked Dahlia from the vitals machine and ushered her to stand. "Follow me or I will have two Officials carry you!" Denise walked speedily into the second section. After some time Denise stopped, brought out a key and opened the cage. Dahlia had just caught up and before she could register what was happening Denise shoved her in, slammed the door and locked it before quickly departing back the way they came. Denises' voice echoed back "DON'T LET THE MONSTERS GET YOU!" and laughed. Silence engulfed the section for a moment before random noises started back up again. Movement from the cage across caught her attention, it was the grey skinned being that terrified her earlier. A raised stone bed sat at the back wall of the two yards by two yards cage, the only way out was the way she came in. The floor was stained yellow, red and black. Dahlia sat down on the stone platform thinking about what her brother said. How was she going to escape when there was up to a dozen security doors between her and the outside of the live-in resort. She layed down and fell asleep to pass some time.

     A couple hours had passed by before Dahlias' sleep had been abrupted by a loud siren. Lab techs, Officials and Security ran back and forth for a moment then all chaos ceased. The being across from her waved and smiled at her before speaking. "So you're the one everyone's been talking about, Dahlia correct?" She replied "Yes, and what's going on?" "We are at max capacity on something, no idea. Anyways names' Dinsu." Dahlia looked at him confused before he shapeshifted. Coal black hair pulled into a long braid, slightly tanned skin, chiseled cheeks, his eyes stayed a carmine colour and he stood just shy of two meters. "Some of us abilities others don't, so their figuring out who does and doesn't." Dinsu gestured to himself "I can shapeshift. Keith next to me can bend the elements and Taike next to you can mind bend." "So what happens to those who don't have any abilities?" Dinsu turned, his cloak flowing, and sat down on his platform. "They erase this building from their memory and take them back to their residence, placing them in their bed. They wake up thinking they dreamed of the resort being Wonderland and all. As for those like me, Keith and Taike they research about our abilities and how they came about. Seems like you're different. They don't know if you do or don't have abilities. Strange things have started happening as soon as you arrived here." Dinsu lowered his voice towards the end. Dahlia just shrugged "Let them believe whatever." "You're not even phased by all this?" Dahlia sat down, "Well my mom got sick and disappeared when I was little, my dad loves to push the resorts' boundaries and well my brother normal like everyone else." Before Dinsu could react Dahlia turned over and fell asleep.

I laughed to myself. They're really Imbeciles, easy to manipulate. I snicker to myself as a plan formed in my brain. It was time to tear this place down.
