Chapter 6

We made it to a place to sleep for the night. After such a quiet drive it was awkward. The truck needed gas, but the next town was hours away. We would have just enough to make it there, "who wants first watch," Asked Dillon, "I will," I said, he just nodded and walked away. It was cold, but we couldn't make a fire or the walkers would find us. The breeze blew threw the trees and made a hissing sound, I turned quickly, "just the wind babe," Nick said, "how is forest and winter," I asked, "well Forest wanted to see you so here and winter is asleep," he said. "Come here give me a hug," I said to forest, she ran to me, "are we going to die here," Forest asked, I looked at Nick, "no no we will get out of this alive I promise," I said. The next morning I woke up everyone, "COMMON LET'S HIT THE ROAD," they all woke up startled, "haha you guys looked so freaking scared haha." They all looked annoyed, but got in the truck anyway. "We need gas in this town," I said, "okey," Letty said jokingly. "How did yalls sleep," asked Nick, "Well I didn't and I heard Letty wake up complaining about a stick almost a million times," I said, she just laughed. "You guys seem mad or something, we are almost to georgia and when we go home it will be normal," I said, "WE ARE JUST TIRED BECAUSE SOMEONE WOKE US UP HORRIBLE," Letty yelled, "wow wow I wasn't the one who said they would take the next watch, but didn't so at least you got to sleep," I said, she went silent. The whole drive we were completely silent, but once we reached the town letty said something, "I am going to get some air," she glared at me, "I'll come," said dillon also giving me a glare. I just sighed and went to pump gas, "are you ok," asked Nick, "ya why do you ask," I said smiling, "you just seem off," I shook my head. We had two hours left to georgia I was so excited for things to be normal, life could be the same, and we wouldn't have to worry 24/7. "WE ARE LEAVING," I shouted to letty and dillon. They got to the truck, "I'm driving re," said letty, I shrugged, "only fair," I said.
