Malfoy was shocked that Granger forgave him so easily, perhaps it was the extensive apology letters he wrote to those who he’d bullied in their younger years. He winced at the thought of calling the brightest witch of the year ‘Mudblood’. Sighing, he continued with his morning grooming.
Pansy and Blaise joined Hermione and Neville at breakfast, McGonagall smiling at the unlikely group, crossing more than just tables for their newfound friendship.
“So,” Pansy started, “we know it’s not really our place to ask, but do you know how Potter feels about Draco?”
Hermione and Neville looked at each other “Well, Harry would never admit but he has a bit of an obsession with Malfoy, really.” shrugged Neville.
Blaise spoke up, “Same here with Draco. It’s always Potter this, Potter that, it’s quite bothersome really.”
Hermione bit her lip, “Well, I trust you two with what I’m about to say, because Harry needs help, help that I alone can’t give. Cedric’s relationship with Harry is…”
“really toxic. Cedric is a control freak and threatens to break up with Harry all the time. I’m pretty sure Cedric is the only one enjoying the relationship. Harry is not great with dealing with emotions, he’s probably too scared to break up with Cedric” finished Neville. Hermione nodded along eagerly, while the Slytherin’s jaws hung open.
“Yes well Draco…” Blaise gave Pansy a pointed look. “I’m not sure Draco would be pleased with you telling”, Pansy shook her head, ”it's for both Potter and Draco’s own good.” Blaise shrugged. “Okay, but when he skins you alive, keep me out of it.”
“Draco has been crushing on Potter since first year.” Now, it was Neville and Hermione’s mouths who hung open. “He didn’t know Potter was seeing someone, he talked to us before bed last night, literally crying because he thinks Harry would never like him back, and he doesn’t know how to stop loving Harry.” Pansy confessed. “Damn Pans,” Blaise said, “Draco’s gonna kill you if he finds out!”
The quartet sat in silence, contemplating what they’ve just learned. It was Neville who broke the silence, “I think they’re good for each other.”
“Who? Cedric and Harry?”
He shook his head. “Harry and Malfoy.” Silence ensued after the thought.
Hermione slapped a palm down on the table. “Right! But first, Harry needs to end things with Cedric. I don’t care who he likes and doesn’t like, he has to leave Cedric. We could help him.”
Blaise quirked an eyebrow “I don’t think it’s wise to plot against Diggory. But for the sake of Harry and Draco….”
Pansy sighed, “It’s obvious they like each other. I saw them cuddling on the train. All they need is a little push.”
Hermione nodded, “Yes, it is quite obvious. They were cuddling? Oh, my heart…”
So Operation Help-Harry-Leave-Cedric?” Neville asked.
“And Operation Drarry?” Blaise added.
The four smirked at each other, nodding.
