Chapter 2 - Nightmares
Chapter 2
A soft whimper broke Draco’s concentration. Looking up, Potter was covered in a layer of sweat, his whole body trembling, soft whimpers breaking Draco’s heart at the sight. He stood up, approaching Harry, whose eyes flew open, whipping his wand out.
“Hey, hey, Harry, it’s ok. The war’s over.” Draco whispered consolingly.
Harry was completely confused. Yes, this was Draco Malfoy. Why in the world was Malfoy being so nice? Why would he care about Harry? Sensing Harry’s confusion, Malfoy shrugged, before pulling Harry into a hug. “I can be caring, you know?” whispering in Harry’s ear, sending shivers down his spine, “Anyways, hugs always calm me down after nightmares of my own.”
Harry was too shocked by the hug, the kind words, to respond at first. Gradually, Malfoy sat down, lowering Harry into his lap as Harry melted into the warm embrace. Harry rested his head on Draco’s shoulder while straddling him. Gradually he calmed down, sighing with content.
Draco couldn’t believe it. He was holding the Saviour, the Golden Boy, the Chosen One in his arms! He could feel the hardened muscle under Harry’s robes, yet his body was impossibly soft and small, fitting Draco’s like a mold. This was definitely the best thing that has ever happened to Draco.
Their short-lived peace was shattered, however, by a very shocked Cedric, swinging the compartment door open. “H-Harry? What?”, stammered Cedric.
Shoot. Harry pulled himself off of Draco, though it was physically painful for both. “Cedric, I-I’m sorry. I had a nightmare, and Dra-Malfoy comforted me.” The tall brunette pulled the messy-haired boy into his chest. Draco was about three inches taller than Harry, but Cedric was a whole six inches taller than Draco. Cedric glared at Draco over Harry’s jet-black hair, Draco glared right back.
Cedric diverted his attention to the gorgeous charcoal-haired boy in front of him, backing into Draco’s side of the compartment, placing a kiss on Harry’s lips. Draco wanted to kill Cedric ten times over for doing that. “Right”, he said, barely hiding his jealousy, “I’ll give you two some space while finding a place to puke.”
