Chapter 6

Golden Snidget

Golden Snidgets have rotational wings which allow the Snidget to move in any direction in outstanding speed and agility. Snidgets are very delicate and fragile, a human's grip could crush them to death. The Golden Snidget is most commonly known for its role in Quidditch which started as such: İn 1269, the newly appointed Cheif of the Wizard's Council, Barberus Bragge, released a Snidget into the pitch, offering 150 Galleons to the player who caught it. Protesting the brutal treatment of the poor bird, Modesty Rabnott summoned the Golden Snidget to her, fled the pitch, and afterward released the Snidget into the wild. But still, Golden Snidgets were used in Quidditch, the 150 Galleon reward changing into 150 points. About a century later, it became more clear that the species was close to extinction, Elfrida Clagg announced it to be a protected species. The Golden Snitch was later on invented by the metal charmer, Bowman Wright.

Classification: XXXX(The Golden Snidget is classified XXXX not because of being dangerous because severe penalties apply if it is injured or captured) Diet Golden Snidgets eat small insects and nectar. They have very high metabolisms, so they eat quite a lot.

Did You Know?

The Snidget's golden feathers and red eyes are so prized that one-time Snidgets were hunted nearly to extinction.
