Lesson Four Study Guide

Chapter 5

Hinkypunks have no nose, face, or eyes, but instead have one leg & two arms. They are mostly white & smokey, but can be grey & blue when attacked. They always seem to carry a lantern or light to attack. This creature can grunt or holler to make itself known. Hinkypunks lure people towards them using a foggy marshland. They act lost & confused to get you to be empathetic & aid the person. To defend yourself against Hinkypunks, you must scare it away. You must corner it & use the Wand-Lighting Charm, as it will flinch away. Concentrate to a high amount to create a beam of light. You will be able to see its features better this way. Use the Knockback Jinx several times & the Hinkypunk will vanish & it will flee.

Degree of Burns

First Degree ⊱ Redness, itchiness, minor swelling, treat with cool water for five minutes, apply aloe vera

Second Degree ⊱ Painful blisters, treat with cool water for fifteen minutes, keep blisters clean

Third Degree ⊱ Minimal pain, nerve damage, waxy white pigment, dark brown appearance, treat by seeking a healer

Fun Facts

⊱ Hinkypunks can appear in a child form, and adult form, or even toddler form.

⊱ Hinkypunks are categorized as spirits & hobble around.

⊱ If you ignore their ploys, they will shoot fireballs towards you from their lanterns.

⊱ If hearing a cry or a moan, the person will assume the person is in trouble or injured & will run that direction without hesitation.
