‘Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, If you’ve a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind.’- The Sorting Hat ‘Wit beyond measure, Is man’s greatest treasure.’- House motto The founder of Ravenclaw House is the commonly known Rowena Ravenclaw, one of the four original founders of Hogwarts. The head of this house is Filius Flitwick, who doubles as the charm master. Like mentioned in the Gryffindors chapter, they are tied with the Gryffindors House for student numbers. (16 out of 20) Ravenclaws are praised above anything else for their smartness and knack for anything that involves thinking, but there’s a lot more to Ravenclaws than just being smart- even though they ARE very smart. Some Ravenclaw Houses core words are- Intelligence Wisdom Creativity Originality The Ravenclaw colors are blue and brown, while their mascot is an eagle. Ravenclaw’s House element is air. Ravenclaws are praised not only for their intelligence, but also for their wit. They have a talent for learning and memorizing knowledge, and usually like school a lot. They aren’t all school and learning, though. They’re the most creative of the houses, and have the ability to come up with completely original ideas that nobody else ever would have thought of. Ravenclaw and Slytherin make the dream-team, and are one of the better matches of the Houses. Ravenclaws do what is wise, and can always be relied on for important things. Traits: Intelligence Wit Wisdom Creativity Originality Individuality Sharpness Acceptance Famous Members of the Ravenclaw House Include: Rowena Ravenclaw, Luna Lovegood, Garrick Ollivander, Filius Flitwick, Millicent Bagnold, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Ignatia Wildsmith. The Ravenclaw House Ghost: The Grey Lady, their ghost is mostly a mystery, and nobody knows much about her, such as where she died, because she’s rather quiet.
