Chapter Three

Chapter 4
Chapter Three Many Odd Questions Are Asked This, someone, wasn’t one of the normal passers-by in the morning who usually had a briefcase and suit on. This person was not only extremely odd-looking in general, (very odd even when compared to San Brixton standards , which if you don’t know is, even more, odder than a pig with a wig) wearing a black button-down shirt with a white tie to contrast to his wavy mess of black hair, instead of eyes, he was wearing a pair of round reflective sunglasses under his mat of hair. Eddie was sure had it not been about 15 degrees Fahrenheit the stranger would have left his navy blue trench coat for a hoodie of some sort. After observing the person for quite a while Eddie realized that the frenzy was over and people were finishing breakfast to get to school. Eddie was just about to join the other children at the door when he decided one more look at the window wouldn’t hurt anyone. He had only left the window for a few seconds but when he looked back, no one was there. In fact, Eddie was just about to leave with everyone else when he realized the stranger from outside was in front of him. He stared at the man for a few seconds and decided in his brain that if he survived this to never complain when Miss Rose said to brush his hair. Of course, after those few seconds, Eddie immediately started to scream his little head off. He instinctively ran to Miss Rose's room only to find the stranger in front of him again. “Please don't hurt me, sir!”Eddie cried as he was cornered near a wall. “What are you talking about?” the stranger said. “I'm too cute to die!” “I was not going to kill you, much less hurt you.” “Oh.” Eddie said, “Why were you chasing me then?” “Well, I was going to-” He stopped in the middle of his sentence as waiting to hear something. “Hellooo?”Eddie asked.”What the-” Eddie looked at the man’s face. He was frightened, there was no question about it. “Excuse me, are you..um..alright?” There was no answer. “Oh no.” “ Wait, what’s going o-” Then he saw it. Eddie saw exactly what he was looking at, a beautiful woman was standing in the hallway looking quite lost. “Quick!” he said looking at Eddie.”Into the closet!”Eddie immediately came out of some sort of trance and followed the man into the dark closet. “Who was that?”Asked Eddie, still very much confused. “That is Sora” He began as crouched in the small space of the closet. “She is a rogue sun sprite.” “A rouge what ?” The stranger sighed once again and began to explain to him the story of a realm of magic ruled by a council of kingdoms, to which all the rulers had a patron of their kingdom, a godly patron who would protect the kingdom and its people. Sadly enough though, the patron of one of the eldest and prosperous kingdoms has come back from a long slumber to on a mad search for every child who had a chance of being a guardian of magic, turning the land against its godly roots and instead into a land where monsters roamed free, fear favored was over loyalty, and the people left to fend for themselves. This patron believed that the world had grown weak while being ruled by the (mostly) peaceful Olympians. During her time searching for the guardians she developed an army to help his cause. Most in his army joined because the patron had promised revenge on those who had wronged them. “But what does this have to do with Sorma?”Eddie asked in the middle of the explanation. “Her name is Sora, not Sorma.” the stranger said a bit annoyed. “Oh..well while we’re talking about names, you never told me yours,” Eddie said a bit nervously. “Yes, well my name is Victor Slivors.”He said looking at the ground. “Nice to meet you, Victor!”Eddie beamed as he held out his hand. Victor gave a small smile in return as he held out his hand to shake but just as his hand was to touch Eddie’s hand. Both boys suddenly heard a voice. Eddie immediately felt a sudden urge to jump out of the closet. Then something held him back. It was Victor! “What are you doing kid?”He said, still holding on to the back of Eddie’s T-shirt. But, Eddie said nothing still trying with all his might to get out of Victor’s grasp. “Get back here! Before-before-” Victor stumbled as though he couldn’t bear to say the words and finally let go of Eddie’s shirt”. “Before what?!”Eddie yelled before finally Victor let go and fell back from the struggle. “You really don't know why I’m here do you?” Eddie tried to stay stern but obviously that never works in real life so why should I make it work here? “O-of course I don't know.”He said on the break of tears. Victor let out a deep sigh. “Kiko promised I wouldn't have to do this..”He sighed once more. “Who’s Kiko?”Eddie asked. “She’s a f-friend.”He said while he began rummaging through his pockets. He pulled out a small box with one long wire. “What’s that?”Eddie asked curiously. “You humans ask so many questions,” Victor added wearily. Eddie was about to talk back again but then started wondering: “..Why would he say humans as if..he wasn’t one?” “..alright..now I just attach this to me..and hold it still..”Victor’s thinking aloud snapped Eddie’s train of thought in half like a small twig. “What does that thing even do?”He asked. “That's not important right now,” Victor responded without even looking up. Suddenly another voice appeared. “Victor...why do you even bother hiding from me? When you of all people know what can happen.”The voice was a woman’s. It was soothing and persuasive. Eddie suddenly felt like jumping out of the closet again but he thought better of it and scooted back into the closet. “Stay still,” Victor said. Eddie looked at him as if he was crazy. “Why the heck is your machine pointing at me?” “Here’s what's going to happen,” Victor continued “ when I press this button you will be blasted out of the closet door we shall then have only seconds until sora catches you so I’ll lunge towards her whilst you grab Xena. Then, you’ll get onto the roof where a portal will take us back to the Amber Sanctum.” Eddie looked at him as if in his mind he has indefinitely labeled Victor as insane. When Eddie was just about to give a smart retort but, the same lady called out again and this time her voice was not soft and persuasive but unsteady and angry. Eddie suddenly felt terrified. “VICTOR YOU WILL OPEN THIS DOOR BECAUSE THIS TIME YOU AND YOUR SMALL FRIEND WILL NOT BE SO LUCKY.” Then suddenly somebody started banging on the door with a startling sound. “It’s that crazy lady again,” said Eddie loudly.“Shhhhhhh!” hissed Victor “What's the point? She already knows we're here” said Eddie this time dropping his voice to a loud whisper. “Just remember the plan, okay?” “Wait, we’re actually doing that plan? The one where I have to jump out of the closet into the room with a crazy lady!” “Yes, that plan, now are you ready for it?” “What no wai-!”Eddie was blasted out of the closet with the wind power of a small hurricane, yet he landed with such gentleness of a warm breeze on a summer day. It took him a few seconds to realize what to do next but when he saw Victor trying to pin down Sora he immediately ran to the dining room to get Xena.
