My Best Friend

Chapter 2

I was free, breathing in the fresh air, feeling the breeze flow through my hair. I didn't care what people thought about me as of this moment. Because this was my moment. My moment to let go of this world. And forget about my past. I had to find her, wait for her to come over again. "Get inside you weirdo people are staring." Draco had told me to do in a demanding voice, but I didn't listen, I didn't want to. I've listened all of my life. And now I'm done. I want to do what I want to do. And I will do just that. But then out of nowhere someone grabbed my shoulder from behind and threw me back inside. I had tripped on my other foot and fall on the ground and both my arms caught myself. When I looked up all I saw was my dad crossing his arms and looking like he was about to whip out one of his many harmful and useful spells. I was terrified for my life at this moment. And then the door had creaked back open and my dad turned his head ever so slightly to see who it was barging into his home at this hour of day. "Draco are you home?" A familiar voice said as they creaked the door open even more. My dad looked back down at me and then turned to face the girl. She had long wavy blond hair, and beautiful golden eyes that could brighten your day. She was shorter than me that I knew for sure. But then my eyes saw the green, a Slytherin. And then I knew. The mudblood that Draco had been bringing home was a Slytherin, it all made sense now. But I have never heard of such a thing. Never in history has a mudblood been in the Slytherin house. I was in total shock. "He's not here Blair!" My dad had said as he threw her outside with a flick of his wand and then slammed the door shut. He lied, Draco is home. He is upstairs with mom. But he already knew that. So then why would he lie. And then I remembered. My dad hates mudbloods, he would kill her right now if it weren't for Draco. To my dad mudbloods would be the end of the wizarding race. Magic would end. Muggles would know everything about us and we wouldn't be able to fix that. I got up quickly before my dad turned back and I ran straight for the door and ran outside. I looked left and right an then there right in front of my eyes the girl my dad called Blair standing in front of me a few feet ahead, dusting herself off. The girl who saved me. I yelled her name and she looked up at me with a face that says she's confused but wanting to know more. After a while she waved to me and I then nervously walked towards her with my breath getting heavier and me getting more nervous as I walk each step. "Uhhh.... Hi, I'm uh... Charlie." I said to her after I stopped walking and took three breaths. She laughed before responding back. I couldn't tell if it was and I already know who you are laugh or go away I don't want to talk to you laugh. But it didn't matte to me, because I finally got to see someone laugh I made someone outside of my family smile. "Hey Charlie, I'm Blair, Draco's friend." The girl responded back. And then I knew she laughed because she already knew who I was and it wasn't because she wanted me to go away. It was a genuine laugh. And not a laugh where someone was laughing at me knowing that I was going o be locked up under the floor for my entire life until I die. And Blair the girl in front of me is the reason I won't be now. She was going to be my first friend. The first person I will trust with my life. And I'm excited to see how these few years of our friendship will go.
