ARRIVAL AT HOGWARTS

Chapter 9

I flew through the open sky, the wind whistling in my ears. I was ecstatic as I spotted the students that had crowded in the grounds to see who was coming towards them on a broomstick. I leaned forward and landed on a tuft of grass with a thump. I walked towards the curious mob of students and said, "I'm back my friends. It's me, Mia!" At this, everyone went mad with joy! Eddie and Marley emerged from the crowd and flung their arms around me. I gasped as I was enveloped in hundreds of hugs given generously to me by my friends. I was elated to see them again! McGonagall and the other teachers rushed downstairs to see what the commotion was all about. "I swear to God I'll take 50 points each off from each of them if a fight is going on there" McGonagall muttered and tore across the grounds, with the teachers following her at her heels. "What is going on here?" McGonagall said sternly as she burst into the crowd. A silence fell over the students immediately but Marley was just too excited to be quiet! "Even better professor!" she said with alacrity as she pushed me forward. McGonagall and the professors tensed. "Hi professors!" I said awkwardly. "Why, its Mia Grazer? What happened? Are you alright? Come to my office at once!" and such remarks were made by the teachers in shock, relief and pleasure! McGonagall led me to her office as I heard the students and teachers murmuring excitedly amongst themselves. Soon, I was sitting before the headmistress with a glass of water and a few sandwiches in my hand. "I was kidnapped professor-" I began when I was cut short by McGonagall, "Yes, yes, I am aware of that fact. The question is, what made you go out in the grounds all by yourself? Were you out of you mind?" I went red at the last question and added hastily, "They didn't hurt me at all, only threatened me." McGonagall sighed impatiently, "That isn't the point Ms. Grazer. You were kidnapped by death eaters! They could have done anything to you!" I shifted uncomfortably in my chair, wondering how McGonagall knew all this, and the parchments rustled in my pocket. McGonagall heard and her severe gaze shifted to my robes, "What do you have in there Ms. Grazer?" she asked gravely. I hesitated, then replied, "I found some important things in the death eaters' lair professor."
