Tobias Misslethorpe was the founding editor-in-chief of the popular magazine, Witch Weekly. The magazine is targeted towards witches, and gives the “hottest scoops” on celebrity news. It also features articles, quizzes, advice columns, and recipes. Before he created Witch Weekly, Misslethorpe did a lot of editing work for newspapers. He did research on Muggle media and noticed how popular gossip magazines are with Muggle women. After buying some Muggle magazines and doing a bit more research, he wondered if these types of magazines would be as popular with witches. This led him to publish the first edition of Witch Weekly. Witch Weekly spread like wildfire and took the media by a storm. Soon enough, the magazine had enough subscribers to support it. Misslethorpe's project was a success.
Misslethorpe's portrait currently hangs in the fifth floor landing of the Grand Staircase. The portrait was painted by Oliver Cartwright. It depicts him with his arms crossed, appearing to be deep in thought. He is interested in the newer issues of Witch Weekly because he likes to see how far his magazine has come. If asked nicely, Misslethorpe will also share recipes that were most likely in early issues of Witch Weekly. He is also happy to give advice if needed. However, do not show him competing magazines such as Witch Holiday? or Chatterbox’s Chronicle. Misslethorpe will start muttering about how much more successful his magazine is compared to all the others.
