The End of Evermore

Chapter 1

Evermore was a nice small town, filled with good people, until one summers day when all that changed. The day was Friday 19th June 2016 and the whole town was excited because it was the night before the 100th anniversary since Evermore was discovered, on the 20th June 1916 and made into a place to call home. The people of Evermore all knew each other, they were like a huge family. In this small town lived a nice small family the Dale Family, Andrew and Valorie Dale and their daughter Dahlia. Everyone was preparing for the Yearly Evermore Parade for tomorrow. Everyone would create floats and present them in the streets of Evermore for everyone to see, there would be singing and dancing, food, and lots of fun activities. However, this year was going to be very different. And the people of Evermore had no idea what was coming for them. It was now evening and everyone was either in bed or getting ready for bed. Over at the Dale Household, Dahlia and her family were ready to rest for the night ready for the next morning. It was at this moment that Dahlia looked out her room window and saw something very peculiar, a storm was brewing but this was no ordinary storm, no it was the worst of the worst, it could take out an entire town leaving it in ruins. Dahlia stood there watching the storm approach closer and closer, she could feel her heartbeat faster every second. Dahlia shouted for her parents, they came barreling into her room and looked out the window their faces turning white as snow. They quickly ushered their daughter into the bunker under the house and told here to stay down there until someone came to get her then locked her in then went to sound the siren to notify the town. Hours pass by and no one had come to get Dahlia, so she decided to go and see what had happened. What she saw was horrifying, her house was in ruins and here parents were nowhere to be seen. Dahlia's heart began to beat faster and faster. She walked away from the ruins and ventured towards the town in hope that there was at least one person alive. As Dahlia approached the town her heart shattered like glass and her eyes began to water, the whole town was in ruins, flyers ripped to pieces all over the road, broken glass from shop widows sprayed everywhere, cars flipped over, the whole place seemed…. dead. Dahlia began searching for any sign that here parents may have been in the town, searching every car and shop but nothing. Suddenly from the corner of her eye, she saw something lying in front of the town safety bunker. But as Dahlia got closer, she realised it wasn’t something but someone. She bolted towards the body, but when she got there her whole world crashed beneath her. It was her parents.
