The wishes

Chapter 3

The three brothers had not seen him, but death was there and was quite interested because usually he did not get this many visitors at once. Death decided to become visible and the three men, including the eldest all were quite scared and fearful. Death took entertainment by this and wanted to give the riddle he so longed to give. Death couldn't just wait to he said: "I do not mean any harm, though my name is death there is no need to fear me. I come with a proposition, cross the river and I shall grant you one thing of whatever you want." The eldest didn't think much of it and told his brothers to help him make a bridge to the other side with magic. The brothers started and the oldest wanted to be in front as always, and they reached the other side. Death smiled and said: "Excellent job my friends, now what are your wishes? The oldest interrupted the middle child before he could speak and said trying to mock death, "I want a wand that wins every duel!" Death then turned and pulled wood from the nearest elder tree and put a piece of his cloak into the center forming a wand. The youngest didn't like the feeling he got from Death and thought it must be a trick but stayed quiet and let the middle child speak: "I want a stone that brings back the dead" he said with a sad look in his eyes. Death smiled again and got a stone from the river and made it into a triangle type shape and gave it to the middle child. The youngest, whom was still skeptical and weary said this, "I want an invisibility cloak that could hide me from anything and anyone" Death ripped a piece of his cloak and gave it to the young man.
