The Symbol of the Deathly Hallows and Wizards who Believe in Them

Chapter 3
(see cover) Witches and Wizards who believe in the Hallows wear an eye-shaped symbol around their necks. This symbol is the sign of the Deathly Hallows. The symbol is composed of a vertical straight line with a small circle around the lower part of it, enclosed by a triangle. These days, many witches and wizards believe in the Deathly Hallows because with the events of the Second Wizarding War, how could you not? Back when the war was under way and before then, however, the believers were very few. Hardly anybody had heard of them, and most of the people who had didn't believe in them. Some of the few who did believe were Zenophilius Lovegood and Albus Dumbledore, who spent some of his later years in search of them. The few believers in the Deathly Hallows were correct. The Hallows do exist.
