No one likes it when they are being told to watch out - OR ELSE. Or do they? I think not. Colette Naut definitely doesn't. But her adventurous spirit and friend Marlee have other plans. Colette's heart wants to know a why. Her friend Marlee is dying to do something against her strict mother's orders. So Colette gives in to the spirit inside her and begins the tasks of finding the why. Soon, however, she learns almost nothing is as it seems. ~20 Reads For Chapter 3! Chapter 2

</a> After school, Marlee and I walked to a little Bakery called The Dancing Teacup. We sat down at a table by the window overlooking the busy street. Marlee sighed looking down. "Lemon Poppy-seed muffin?" I asked. She nodded. Lemon Poppy-Seed muffins were both of our favorites. A lady came over to us. She had coral-pink hair and a cheeky looking face. Her skin was almond brown and she had coral pink lipstick that matched her hair. Her hair was up in a loose knot and she had a dress with a white apron. "Hello!" She said cheerily. "My name is Nina, I'll be your server today! Would either of you like anything to drink? Or to eat?" I ordered an iced tea and a Lemon Poppy-Seed muffin. Marlee ordered a banana-strawberry smoothie and a Lemon Poppy-Seed muffin. "Be back soon!" Nina said sweetly. I had no idea why or how, but it seemed off. I looked around. I saw the usual customers, one named Lena waved at me. I waved back. I didn't see the workers Abbey and Tara at the registers though. Weird. A little later, Nina came back. On one hand, she held a small platter with our drinks. On the other, she had two small plates with our muffins. "Here you go!" She said sweetly. We took them. I picked up the muffin and saw, in the corner of my eye, Nina watching us. I took a bite, and time froze. Everything and everything stopped. Marlee was suddenly unconscious and lying on the ground, her smoothie spilled next to her. Nina came from the shadows. She looked way different than she had before. Her hair was jet black and literally looked like smoke, an evil floating in the air. Her face was smeared with black and her eyes were deep red, like blood. Her dress was ripped and tattered. Her hand pointed at the ice tea. Her hand wasn't really a hand anymore though. I wasn't going to drink it. No way. I started to dump it in a cactus plant. Suddenly, I was being chocked by the air, but there was something choking me. Then I passed out. I woke up a little later in a dark, smelly, alleyway. Marlee was still unconscious next to me and there was Nina. She looked like she had been ripped from the underworld. A voice spoke. I guessed it came from Nina. But it was nothing like her. "Benalding's heart was ripped... rip the match and bring the dead. OR ELSE..." My stomach churned like butter and suddenly we were standing outside my house. It was gloomy and rainy. My heart pounded a million miles an hour.
