When Tom Riddle began researching how to make a quintuple , he would certainly think of making one of the heirlooms of Gryffindo r his quintupler , as he had planned to do with the other Hogwarts houses . However, he never managed to tarnish any of the Heroes' Home's relics with such dark magic that he intended to use them. So what were the reasons why he failed to use Godric Gryffindor's relics for that purpose? One could say that the answer initially lies in Lord Voldemort's personal likes and dislikes since he was still Tom Riddle . The basic principles of Godric Gryffindor in relation to the wizards and witches accepted in Hogwarts were in direct contrast to what Lord Voldemort believed deeply and probably considered the selection of a heirloom of Gryffindor for the Pentateuch as a betrayal of Salazar Stherly's principles . On the other hand, of course, he could use - in theory - such a relic to create a Pentateuch , as this would be a major insult to Gryffindor 's legacy . But is the answer that in the end he could not carry out this plan even if he tried?
