Snakes & Smoke
Snakes are reptiles that live everywhere except Antarctica. Snakes are carnivores & have two methods of attack for their prey. A minority of snakes have venomous bites. Most wrap around their prey tightly. They are able to eat prey that are bigger than their heads. To track their prey, they use their tongue to smell & taste its meal. To defend themselves, they have hard scales. Snakes are ecotherms. In the wizarding world, they are a symbol of the Dark Arts. Smoke is composed with gas, liquid, & solid particles. The substances are carbon dioxide, liquid water, & ash. Smoke doesn't move on its ownd ue to the wind forcing it to move.
Snakes to Smoke Spell
In 1921, a transfigurist created this spell. His daughter was scared of snakes & he wanted to keep her away from them. This spell is used to temporarily vanish snakes & for dueling. When dueling, the snake conjuring spell & the Smoke to Dagger is used. Also, this spell is used for self-defense from a snake. This spell will not work on Basilisks. Visualize the snake altering into gas & dispersing. If the spell fails, only half of the snake will transform into smoke, the snake can transform into stone, creates a small explosion. It is impossible to transfigure the creature back once the smoke disperses.
