Chapter 1
War and conflict is something every sane person tries to avoid, but sometimes fails. It can be against anyone. Even the most innocent people can be involved just to fight for their side. To fight for life. For freedom.
Conflict can be over the simplest of things. Fighting for the last slice of pizza from the school cafeteria, perhaps. Or over an object that is thought to be stolen. No matter what the situation is, conflict can always be resolved in different ways. Maybe to come to an agreement to share the last pizza slice. Or to apologise for accusing someone of a stolen item when it was in your pocket all along. War, however, is a different matter.
War is traumatising and dark. Darker than the misty night sky outside your window. Screams and yells of families desperate to find safety from the torment can be heard. All sorts of weapons are used to protect themselves or used against any mad people who they may come into contact with. Others can even go insane from being separated from their friends. Their families. The rest of the world.
This is a story. A story about humanity finding hope. A story about a woman who had no choice but to fight for her life against a deadly virus. A story not only about freedom, but about finding peace, even in the darkest of shadows.
