Spell creation
The lesson focuses on the process of spell creation, which begins with identifying a specific problem that needs solving, such as lighting a fire or mending an object. Each spell consists of several components: an incantation, willpower (mental strength to make the spell happen), and concentration (focus to direct the spell correctly). Today’s assignment involves creating a theoretical spell by deciding what the spell will do, defining its components, and choosing an incantation (usually in Latin). This exercise is foundational for more advanced spell creation work in the future.
The Warming Charm
Incantation: Focillo (foh-SILL-oh)
Wand Movement: Slow clockwise circles that continue while you concentrate.
Willpower: Moderate
Concentration: Moderate; concentration should be maintained on the target and warmth.
This and the next spell are both created by magical theorist Arameus Szareko. This spell provides a gentle warming sensation, it will never get hot enough to do any harm. the warmth is determined by your willpower. This is a dynamic spell.
The Chilling Charm
Incantation: Infrigido (in-FRIG-ee-doh)
Wand Movement: Slow counter-clockwise circles that continue while you concentrate.
Willpower: Moderate
Concentration: Moderate; concentration should be maintained on the target and cold.
This charm does the opposite, it works the same, the more willpower the colder the spell gets.
