Welcome to Magical Art 701!
Let's get crafty, artists! In our second year of the course, we will spend even more time exploring different art mediums. By the end of this year, you will have a great foundational understanding of magical art - which will serve you well if you plan to pursue a career in the field after Hogwarts.
I have a question about the lesson or assignment. What do I do?
Feel free to send me, Professor Rosenquist, an owl! I am always happy to answer any questions you may have. Remember to keep your inquiries respectful and that it is always better to ask any questions you may have before you submit your assignment.
Are the practical assignments required?
Due to the nature of this being a N.E.W.T. level course, yes, the practical assignments (otherwise known as Project Hour assignments) are required. There are written options for these assignments, however, you would need to complete the practical options if you would like to turn in the Portfolio Submission extra credit assignment at the end of the course.
Do I need to have artistic talent to take this course?
Absolutely not! We grade on effort and how you addressed the prompt, not your artistic talent. If you have an idea of how to approach a particular assignment and are not sure if it would work, feel free to owl me, Professor Rosenquist. This is a course where we encourage you to be creative and push the boundaries.
What do I do if I believe my assignment was graded in error?
If you believe there was a mistake made in the grading of your assignment, or you have a question about your assignment after getting your grades back, you may reach out to me, Professor Rosenquist, with your grade ID. You can find your grade ID in your gradebook via the button under the course description.
When will my assignment be graded?
As you progress into the upper years at HiH, there is less support for professors in upper level courses. In the case of this course, there are no PAs in this year. Please be patient with me as I make my way through the queues. Assignments are anonymous and I prioritize them in the order that they are submitted. If your assignment has not moved places in the queue at all after a couple of weeks, you may owl me, Professor Rosenquist, to look into it.
