Welcome to Herbology 201!
My name is Matthew Aspen, or Professor Aspen for short, and I am glad to give you all a very warm welcome to this course. My PAs and myself expect great things from you, so we are eager to see you all "grow" in the greenhouses. However, we would like you to read the following information about the course before enrolling in it:
1-Whenever you submit an assignment, it goes to our queue. We usually grade them quickly, but sometimes this is not possible due to many factors. That is why we would like you to be patient and rest assure that your assignments will be graded shortly.
2-The Herbology Team is more than happy to receive your questions about the course. Please do so in a formal and respectful manner, and your queries will be answered quickly.
3-Even though we are professionals and enjoy what we do, we are also prone to make mistakes. If you believe that an assignment has not been fairly graded, please send Professor Aspen or Sienna Dixon (Head Student) an owl as soon as possible, outlining your reasons why you believe so, together with the ID number of your assignment. Remember that appeals are evaluated and they can have positive or negative replies, meaning that your grade might change for good or for bad. Bear this in mind when you contact us about such topic.
Updates - 18/04/25
1-From 28th April, 2025 to 11th May, 2025, the quizzes that belong to the first semester (Lessons 1 to 5) (including the HERB 201 Midterm) will accept resubmissions due to minor revamps. Everyone is allowed to retake these assignments. After the period ends, no more resubmissions will be allowed.
2-From 12th May, 2025 to 25th May, 2025, the quizzes that belong to the second semester (Lessons 6 to 9) (including the HERB 201 Final) will accept resubmissions due to minor revamps. Everyone is allowed to retake these assignments. After the period ends, no more resubmissions will be allowed.
3-Starting on the 21st April, 2025, some new assignments will be available for the course. They are: Wish You Luck (Lesson 1), Profile Wishes (Lesson 3), Wishes Covered (Lesson 5), Writing your Wishes (Lesson 7), Plant Diary and Project (Lesson 9) and Course Evaluation 201 (Lesson 9).
The first four assignments, which will be extra credit, are intended to help you work up your final Dandelion project, which has been moved from Year 3 to Year 2 for better progression. The Course Evaluation assignment will function similarly to the one offered in Year 1. Finally, the Plant Diary and Project will be a mandatory assignment (if you have completed this assignment in Year 3 already, you can resubmit it in Year 2 if you like for the points).
4-If you haven't already, please join our Discordian Castle, and specifically, our Herbology classroom through the following link: https://discord.gg/nvG6r4ffzR
