Backstory

I received my Hogwarts letter knowing full well this was exactly a part of my life plan; since the day I was born my parents expected me to be a witch of the highest caliber. Being from an extensive line of pureblood Slytherins has its advantages, sure, but I didn't even know if I wanted to be a Slytherin or follow in the path of my parents. That's why I was a hatstall. The sorting hat almost put me in Gryffindor, which I'm pretty sure I would've been disowned for, but decided on Slytherin thank lord. So, here I am, my family's trophy to show off. The next Slytherin witch of my family carrying on the prestigious line. My favorite class is most certainly Defense against the Dark Arts, because I have quite the knack for throwing a good curse, but potions is a close second. I just zone out and do my thing in there. I was born after the battle of Hogwarts, but the majority of my family were Death Eaters or supporter of the Dark Lord; they still hold resentment for muggles and half-bloods and see it as my personal duty and burden to uphold the status that purebloods remain superior even after the defeat of the majority of the sacred 28 families. That's why I must do well. If I slip up it reflects badly on the image my family and many others have fought to maintain. I don't think like that though. To be quite frank I think everyone should be given an equal chance, pureblood or not. I think my candor is my biggest strength, because I'm also able to easily see behind another person's facade. As with many Slytherins my downfall is pride, but I overcome that every day by surrounding myself with people who help me to recognize that, and many of them are from varying different houses. Sometimes I don't even feel like I should've been placed in Slytherin at all when I'm around them, I'm really grateful for the friendship they give me. When I finish school I want to become an Auror and break out from the pressure of a controlling high status family, perhaps even humble them with my work. That's really why I'm excited to begin magic- to break the mold. Be the Slytherin who stuck out.
