Rye

Backstory

A Ravenclaw, strange for a family full of Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs. But after all it makes sense, Rye’s eagerness to learn and contribute, her creativity and wonder of the world, it all makes a splendid Ravenclaw. Though the hat did have trouble with her, a moment or two of pondering and a few seconds of silence before it decided Ravenclaw was the best fit. Rye always loved DATDA, potions and herbology, wanting to become a healer or protector someday. Divination throws her off, seeing the future is difficult when you don’t always believe what it says. Charms was easy but sometimes just dragged on and on. Both of her parents being muggleborn, Rye is a half-blood. Not everyone takes kindly to her, but a majority of the wizards and witches she meets are wonderful and treat her with respect. Rye has always felt grateful that she wasn’t alive when He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was in power, being a half-blood with many muggleborn friends she hates to even think about what might’ve become of them. Rye is a powerful wizard, learning quickly and having good control over her powers. She is always willing to help others if she sees them struggling. While Rye is a fast learner, she gets unmotivated if she can’t perform a task correctly on the first or second try. At home, Rye lives on a wildlife rescue. Her family cares for magical creatures, which gives her the upper hand in her Care of Magical Creatures class. Her family, while large, is distant. She never really liked her cousins, all of them were cruel to her and her parents. Instead she made her own family with the people at Hogwarts.
