Born into a prestigious and elegant family, I must follow in the footsteps of my father. While a child I was considered a little odd and peculiar for my admiration for brewing and gardening. After all, it takes more than just Defense Against the Dark Arts to become a better Wizard.
Insofar to say that I carry with me some gift, arrogance is unbecoming of me. I can boast all day long about my knowledge or cram my intellect down someone's throat, but that is unflattering. Instead I enjoy helping my friends and peers. After all, how else is this generation supposed to flourish if we cannot help one another?
Despite my readiness to help in studies and spread a wealth of information, I am somewhat of a recluse. A good book and some warm coffee is the best way to spend an evening, in my opinion. Sitting in front of a cauldron and brewing or making a pot of joe is just another way I spend my time. Practice makes perfect.
My parents were filled with joy when I received my letter and took me straight away to the platform, eager to show me the ways of the Wizarding world. Now in the care of Hogwarts, I feel as though my perilous journey into the depths of ancient magic will bring me into a whole new world of wonder and joy.
