Avis Whisp was born July 17 in Baltimore, Maryland. Because she was born in the US, her parents decided to raise her there. Once year she would travel to London to watch her brothers go through 9 3/4. Being from a half-blood family, she went to public schools for the first 10 years of her life. Gaining the basic knowledge she needed for the non-maj school, as her non-maj father requested.

Non-maj school and the normality of everyday life didn't stop her obsession of brooms. Though, she could never really pursue it because of the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MCUSA). But... rules are meant to be broken.

While her parents were away in London, she would stay on a country-side farmhouse with her grandparents. They... owned a broom. They might've not known about the fact that she often stole it to go on midnight flights, but those are small details. On one of her many midnight flights, she was caught, thankfully, by a witch. The witch agreed to not say anything to the Ministry of Magic as long as she stopped flying, she happily obliged which put a stop to the end of her midnight flying.

When she received letters from both Illvemory and Hogwarts, her parents thought it would be best to continue to take courses at Hogwarts. Her parents packed up everything as quickly as they could and permanently moved to London. While they shopped for supplies in Diagon Alley, she couldn't help but look at the broom shop. All the beautifully polished brooms seemed to be calling her name through the crystal clear glass. She couldn't say it was her favorite shop though. Flourish and Blotts and the broom shop fought for second, but her favorite shop out of all of them was OIlvanders. The wands scattered around the shop startled her at first, but when she received her beautifully crafted wand, she absolutely loved the place. That day she'd also stop by the Eeylopes Owl Emporium. The way Athena, her now-owned white barn owl, glided around the shop as they talked with the shop owner awed her. Naming her extremely smart and graceful owl after the god of Wisdom and War plans seemed only appropriate.  September 1st came around, she boarded the train eagerly and now living out her first year of Hogwarts.
