Backstory

Son of Peter and Michelle, twin brother to Holly and a third generation Hogwarts student. Seb Durran had quite the honor to uphold. His family bred magical birds, most commonly Phoenixes and Fwoopers. Sebastians parents bred the first ever phoenix and muggle bird hybrid, the first Peatrie. This phoenix-peacock hybrid led to a new age of success for his family. These birds possessed a large amount of blue and purple plumage along with the golds from phoenixes and could be domesticated easier than their magical ancestors.

Seb and his twin Holly both began in 2014, being sorted into Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff respectively. This separation worried Seb, though he would overcome it within the coming months. Before arriving he had purchased a wand from Ollivanders, despite his mother's wishes. She was of French blood, and had attended Beauxbatons and purchased her supplies from France. His father Peter, however, insisted since they were attending a British school they should purchase it from the British suppliers. Seb was paired with a Cherry wood wand, possessing a Unicorn Hair core. It was 10.5" and supple. After obtaining his supplies, he returned home, where his parents taught him and his sister a few basic spells. The children, however, already were able to perform some magic, as their parents lent them their own wands to perform some tasks around the aviary were they bred the birds. Seb had shown himself to be a natural with water based charms from a young age, able to manipulate freely existing water with flowing wand movements and perform verbal charms with ease. This was useful to put out fires caused by the birds, as their ability to teleport caused a burst of fire able to set nearby objects ablaze. Holly was a born master of levitation spells, allowing her to move objects around with a flick of her wand.

The Durran magical bloodline was a unique one, with effects and abilities not seen by the common family. The family had long been associated with birds, particularly large and majestic ones, and this symbol was often seen in things such as patronus and animagus if the Durran was able to perform such feats. The twins had both inherited an animagus form, a rare but not impossible feat. Seb had been lucky enough to have the form of a phoenix, something rare by most cases but not uncommon in the Durran bloodline. Holly inherited the form of a swan. These forms were a source of pride for their parents, as of Peters two brothers, only his children were lucky enough to inherit the ability. This also led his Grandparents to show a slight favor towards that branch of the family as his Granddad Ken also inherited an animagus form at birth.

Upon arriving at Hogwarts, the twins agreed to not reveal their animagus forms until they thought their friends ready. This was caused by their fear of being outcast due to already having such an uncommon ability. They both progressed well in their classes, achieving high grades, though not top of the year level. Both made friends within and outside their houses. Seb held preference towards astronomy, Ancient Runes, Charms and care for magical creatures.

Sebastian is currently achieving good grades at the school, and is top Duelist in his year Ravenclaw Cohort.
