Gryffindor. Noun. (plural Gryffindors) (sometimes used attributively) A person bearing traits associated with Gryffindor house from the Harry Potter series, including bravery, boldness, or an affinity for lions or the colors red and gold. Gryffindor. Loyal, brave, courageous, daring, adventurous, chivalrous – those are the traits of a true Gryffindor. Gryffindors fight for what is right and they are usually the ones at the head of the pack when it comes to doing something brave or something that takes nerve. Gryffindor's founder, Godric Gryffindor. The Gryffindor house traits of courage as well as "daring, nerve, and chivalry," and thus its members are generally regarded as brave, though sometimes to the point of recklessness. Some Gryffindors have also been noted to be short-tempered.
