Hana Lin

Backstory

A half-blooded witch descended from her Gryffindor father, Hana Lin was born on October 2nd, 2002 in the bustling city of Jakarta, Indonesia. At the mere age of 2, her Muggle-obsessed father took her and her mother with him to various countries - Malaysia, Australia, Holland, and Singapore - resulting in the girl growing up in five different cultures, learning seven different languages. As a young girl, she lived a completely Muggle life - her wizard father hiding all aspects of magic from her to the best of his ability in order to continue their family's life of safety within the Muggle world - but as she grew older, she eventually found out of her magical abilities, and it was not long after her eighth birthday that her father finally agreed to teach her magic at home - on the condition that she'd stay in Muggle education, at least until high school ended. As she grew older, she came to realise that the Muggle world was not where she was meant to be - that she longed for more knowledge and experience in the other half of the world that she was supposed to belong in. So she studied harder in her Muggle studies in order to ensure her graduation was on time, and that she would waste no more years of being away from the society where she truly felt at home.

Now free from Muggle high school, Hana has chosen to pursue deeper studies in the arts she was only taught to a certain extent as a child - the arts that she wished to experience more in real life, and not just behind a book. So as a seventeen-year-old turning eighteen, she decided that it was not too late to pay Hogwarts a visit - as a first-year student.
