"Your Mistress has gone to Azkaban, you're free," a kindly looking man in a bowler hat told me. That was how this started. Mistress Bellatrix was sent to Azkaban and I couldn't have been happier.
"Aequoreal's free?" I asked, not believing my luck.
"Yes, you are free," he laughed. "Now, I imagine you'll want some nice family to settle into? I have a few-"
I cut him off, "Aequoreal doesn't want to work anymore. Aequoreal wants to be free. Maybe Aequoreal would be able to find somewhere I could be payed?"
"Now, now, no one pays a house elf," the man said. "The mere idea, it's laughable."
He disappeared leaving me deep in thought. Then I remembered my friend Winky, she'd said something years ago about Dumbledore being kind to house elfs. I didn't know whether he'd be kind enough to let me work there though, getting payed. It was worth a shot.
I disapparated to Hogwarts; into Dumbledore's office.
"Hello," Dumbledore said. He had a kind twinkle in is eye and I knew at once I'd like him.
"Hello there," I said, trembling. "Aequoreal would like to know if there is space for her in the kitchens."
"Of course," he said.
"Aequoreal would also like to ask something else," I squeaked. "Would Aequoreal be able to be paid? Not much, Merlin no. Just 2 galleons a week and Sundays off? If it's a bother, just tell Aequoreal and I'll find somewhere else."
"Of course, Aequoreal," he said. "I'll sort it out immediately.



Hi! My name is Aequoreal, (pronounced EE-QUORE-EE-AL).

And that's how I became a Hogwarts House Elf. I was sorted (Dumbledore has us House Elfs sorted to make tidying easier, we tidy our own houses area.) into Hufflepuff. Dobby and Winky started working here at one point. Sadly, Winky is now a recovering alcoholic. She was an emotional mess once she was freed. When Dumbledore died, I left, deciding I didn't want to work for another head. I now have a very kind mistress who pays me a lot for doing very little. My life has gotten so much better!

My favourite colour is blue, I don't know why but I think it has something to do with my obsession of the sea. I love anything to do with the sea especially going on camps there. I am quite introverted, well, VERY introverted and nerdy. When I'm with my close friends though, I am completely crazy!I love the Harry Potter books and the Murder Most Unladylike books. I like most books though!

Elizabeth Black- Elizabeth is truly wonderful, she cares for everyone and everything. She's the true definition of Hufflepuff, she's so loyal and hardworking
Dora Scamander- she's kind and amazing! She was my first ever friend on HiH
Everybody else- everyone I've met on Hogwarts is here has been so amazing. They're all so friendly and they're here no matter what they're going through. I can't mention everyone but I think everyone is amazing!
