Backstory

Elena Gilbert's parents died, and she almost did too in the car accident. Stefan Salvatore saved her just in time, but unfortunately he could not save her parents. Ever since then, Elena's life has changed. Soon then, she met Stefan Salvatore and Damon Salvatore a little after. She fell in love with Stefan, the man who led her through those dark times. She also fell for Damon, Stefan's older brother. She decided to stay with Stefan, even though she knows that Damon's love is special, but she stays with Stefan because he is the reason why she's somewhat happy. After these vampires entered her life, a lot of people around her died, but she pushes through. Elena ended up dying when she and Matt flew off the bridge and into the water; just like the car accident she was in with her parents a while back. Stefan comes into the water to save Elena first, but Elena, putting her loved ones forward, told Stefan to save Matt first, and Stefan did as he was told. Elena ended up drowning with vampire blood in her system due to being in the hospital since she had brain hemorrhage, and so the only way to save her from the dangerous injuries was to be given vampire blood. A little after, Elena woke up, realizing she had become a vampire and was in transition. Elena never wanted to become a vampire, but she wanted to survive, and maybe live an eternity with her one true love, Stefan. She completed the transition, and became a full-fledged vampire. Stefan and Damon have been trying their best to lead her to the best way of being a vampire; however, it's been quite a long, and hard journey.
