Backstory

I waited a long time to receive my Hogwarts letter. I'm sure I'll remember the day it arrived for the rest of my life. It was a bright and blustery morning in April, and the grass was still wet from midnight rain. It soaked through my colourful fuzzy socks as I went to get the morning mail. You can imagine my surprise when a tired looking owl dropped that wonderful envelope in my arms. I rushed inside, any thought of the mail gone, and carefully opened the beautiful letter.

Life in my magical house was anything but normal. My mother, Evangeline, has a stall set up in Diagon Alley where she sells handmade goods, from quill holders to clocks. My father, William, works at the Ministry of Magic in the Beast Division, so he always has interesting stories to tell us. Then there's my twin brothers, Finn and Jesse. Papa likes to joke that they should be categorized as Beasts, not human beings. Sure, they can be nice to have around sometimes, but mostly they just break things and singe off their eyebrows. All that being said, I was overjoyed to finally go to the Hogwarts I'd heard so much about from Finn and Jesse.

At Hogwarts, I spend far too much time in the library, and I see curfew as a guideline rather than a rule. I often sneak up to the towers at night to watch the stars. Hey, I've only been caught once by Filch. And I managed to convince him and Professor McGonagall that I lost my way back to the Gryffindor Tower. We'll see what the rest of the year brings!
