Backstory

Liz, an American, born to blue collar working class muggle parents had no idea that magic actually existed. Every since a child she felt that she never academically fit into her muggle school and struggled immensely. One day, while Liz was young, her mother got very sick. She took on the role of the "mother" in the family. Learning how to cook, clean, and care for her muggle father, brother and sick mother while still trying to complete her schoolwork. She wished everyday that things would change and she could go to a school where she felt her talents were highlighted and useful. Unexpectedly, on her 11th birthday, she received 2 strange looking letters. One from IIvermorny and one from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After much discussion, it came to light that Liz's mom was actually a squib. Her grandfather was a wizard whose family originated in London and her grandmother was a muggle. Since Liz's older brother never received a letter the year before, her family just assumed the magical bloodline had died. Without hesitate, she chose Hogwarts and was eager to follow in her grandfathers footsteps. After accepting, the school sent wizards to apparate her and her family to London before the start of term.

Her first stop in Diagon Alley was of course, Ollivander’s, and Ollivander took quite a bit of time trying wand after wand. Until finally, he brought out a very unique wand from the very back of the shop a 11.5” Ash wood wand with a Unicorn Tail core. As soon as she picked up the wand, the air in the shop smelled like being out in fresh mountain air and the rays of sunshine pouring into the shop shone brighter than before. As she was finishing up her shopping, when walked by the pet store and had to have a gorgeous salt & pepper cat, she appropriately named Pepper.

During the sorting ceremony in her first year, she put on the sorting hat and it took an abnormally long time for the hat to make a decision. “You would be a great fit for Hufflepuff you know? Loyalty, kindness, love for you friends…” But the hat sensed more than that from her past with great hardships and into her future, of bravery and courage that would change world views. “So therefore it must be…Gryffindor!” She was a very gifted witch when it came to Herbology, Charms, and she even had the gift for Divination. However, in her third year, she really hit her stride when she found Care of Magical Creatures. She fell in love with each and every creature they studied from Flobberworms to Hippogriffs. She would voluntarily help the CoMC professor outside of class time feed and care for these creatures and every one of them seemed to love her back. There was a particularly affectionate Niffler that would give her shiny trinkets it had stolen from around the castle every time she came to visit. Her years in Hogwarts was a socially active one, she had many friends from many different houses where they would spend time at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade, or the castle lawns. She even joined the frog choir. She was an animagus that could change into a tabby cat, and could even produce a full corporeal patronus before she left Hogwarts of a wildcat.

After Hogwarts, she naturally became a traveling Magizoologist between the USA and UK. After a few years working, she started to protest the poor care of creatures within schools and other institutions. She won a decisive court battle against Gringotts for the mistreatment of dragons. Soon after she became a well-known Magical Creature Activist working for both the Ministry of Magic & MACUSA.

She later married a fellow Slytherin, Kyle, whom she met at the ministry of magic working as an Auror. They currently live in the US with no children yet, but plenty of creatures roaming the house to keep anyone on their toes!
