Backstory

The day I received my acceptance letter was also the day I found out my absentee father was actually a wizard- a fact that my muggle mother spat at me through gritted teeth. In that one instant everything started falling into place and my mom started pouring out all the secrets she’d been holding onto for years.
My father had left only days after my second birthday.
By the time spring came around, we had long since moved to Canada to live with my grandparents, and there was never any mention of my dad or the world he came from.
She recounted the time he had come to see me and bring me to live with him in Ilkley and my mom had sent him running down the driveway before my grandparent’s brought me home from dinner.
As soon as I stepped foot in Diagon Alley, my eyes darting everywhere, I had to know everything. I adopted my owl Athena, somehow convinced my mother to buy me a broom (as an early birthday present) and about 12 more books than required by the letter’s suggestion.
Obviously, the Sorting Hat sensed all of this, but for some reason contemplated Gryffindor(like what??) before finally placing me in Ravenclaw. I dove into my studies and everything I could possibly be involved in at school; the Wizard’s chess, Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes clubs, I’m a chaser for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.
Somehow I’ve made it to my fifth year without a single clue of what I want to do after Hogwarts- there’s just too much to learn and see. Although one thing is for certain, whatever I do, it will be in the Wizarding World.
It’s going to be a big year with O.W.L’s and being selected as Prefect and managing Quidditch and figuring out what I’m going to do with my life and (possibly) meeting my dad for the first time. We’ll see how this goes.
