Backstory
My house is Gryffindor, I'm not exactly sure why this house though. Some of my family members say that I should be in Hufflepuff, but another handful seem to think that Gryffindor is a good fit. I guess I'll just have to see for myself right? once the Sorting hat was on my head in seemed a lot heavier than I thought it would. Once my name was called I walked up to Professor McGonagall she smiled down on me, my heart was beating so fast that the hat even told me to calm down! After that he bellowed Gryffindor with a chuckle. My cousin is a Slytherin and says that her favorite class is potions, but I think that I'll like either Herbology or Care of Magical Creatures. My cousin also told me that if I end up in Gryffindor, she won't be rude to me like the houses are usually together. I'm fairly close with my cousin so I'm going to make my best effort to talk to her this year, I think I'm going to need her help a lot. The houses being divided on themselves will not get in our way.
Our family is mostly pureblood, but my mum's side of the family married into muggle families. They are nice and it was an adjustment for them obviously but they are very supportive of us all. I wasn’t alive when He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was alive, but my cousins were around 10 or something and they always talk about how their parents were always frightened by just the mention of him. All I have to say is that I’m glad I wasn't alive then, he sounds absolutely terrible. After graduation I think I’ll stay home and help mum and dad with the house and fields, we live on a farm. I’m guessing it’ll be a lot easier with more magical being on the farm. My parents were really excited when I got my letter, since my birthday, all they have been talking about was Hogwarts, it sounds amazing! I’m not sure why my family never talked about it until now though. Of course I knew magic was a thing but I didn’t know there was a bloody school for it. I thought maybe it was something handed down from my great grandparents. Now it's suddenly a whole new world to me. The wizarding world doesn't stop where the muggles live, it's apparently literally all over the world.
