Backstory
For the majority of my adolescence, I was never consciously acquainted with magic. Growing up in a half-blood ran house, my muggle mother was never all that keen on my father introducing me to the Wizarding World, until I had received my letter and was confirmed to be a witch. So on the fateful day I received my letter, I was bouncing off the walls with excitement for I was to be officially introduced to the world of magic I'd only heard through muffled conversations when I passed my father's study. Come September, I was well adapted to the magical universe I'd come to know and love. On the Hogwarts Express, my newfound friends and I contemplated what houses we were to be sorted in. I struggled to think over where I fit in. My father's ties to Slytherin House had me wondering if I should follow in his footsteps, but my heart also yearned for the other houses. When finally led into the Great Hall, I honestly had no clue where I would be going. One by one, I watched first years come and go to their newly acquainted houses. When I approached the stool, I felt my nerves heighten. The Sorting Hat seemed pleased with me, saying he liked a challenge. It was after four minutes of contemplation and listing what characteristics I endowed, that the Sorting Hat yelled, "GRYFFINDOR!"
