Backstory

I'll never forget the first time I walked through the front doors of Hogwarts. I always knew that one of the magical schools was in my future, it was all my parents ever talked about, so it was no surprise when a letter from Hogwarts, and a letter from Beauxbatons arrived. My father, a proud Durmstrang, pushed for the exclusivity that Beauxbatons would provide, but it was the stories my mother told me as child of her days in Hufflepuff that made my decision clear. Still nothing could have prepared me for the excitement bouncing off the walls of that first day. I'd always heard of the rumors surrounding each house, my mother would never admit it, but she always held some disdain towards Slytherin that I never understood. And the trouble only grew after I was sorted into Slytherin. My mother was shocked, and wanted to pull me from term, worried that I'd turn into 'a bad witch'. There were constant insults thrown at me in the common rooms for coming from a Hufflepuff bloodline. I never let it get to me, until my third year. We had just arrived back from break, and as I was heading back to the common rooms I heard a commotion. Two older Slytherin boys, known for causing trouble, had put a jinx on a younger muggle-born girls' robes. My father, a spell inventor, was working on a new defense spell while I was home, and he taught it to me. I knew it was still experimental, meaning dangerous, but I had to do something they wouldn't know how to block. I left them stunned in the hospital wing for two weeks, and was nearly expelled. But after that no one questioned that I belonged in Slytherin. I made a
vow after that to never stand idly by, for others, or myself. Some students were scared of me, but my close friends knew that I would never use magic for to harm unless to help someone in need. I'm closing in on my last year at Hogwarts, and hope to lead a career as a Curse-Breaker, keeping my fellow witches and wizards safe from those who intend to do no good.
