Backstory

Visiting Professor Salient is currently on sabbatical from Ilvermorny in the USA and is not teaching at this time. Granted permission by both the M.o.M. and MACUSA through the Wizard Exchange Program (WEP), Professor Salient applied to attend Hogwarts to conduct research, review, comparison and evaluation of courses and curriculum in order to enrich and enhance his own students at Ilvermorny. Graduated from Ilvermorny in the House of the Horned Serpent nearly 20 years ago, Professor Salient felt best sorted into House Ravenclaw in order to also best evaluate and assess student engagement, enrichment and extracurricular activities as compared to his own.
Friendly and easygoing, Professor Salient can usually be seen either utilizing the Library at Hogwarts and conducting research, or sitting in the Ravenclaw common room, stretched out on the couch in Bunny slippers with a mug of Hot Chocolate and a scone, listening to students tell of their day, the latest Quidditch news or Castle Gossip with a twinkle in his eye and a knowing smile. Always eager to assist any way he can, students usually feel at ease in his presence.
